We are delighted to announce that Phil Doggart has been selected as the Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate for Midlothian North for the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary Elections.
We look forward to getting out and speaking with constituents and giving them a proper, common-sense conservative perspective.
Speaking after his selection, Phil Doggart said: "It is an honour to have been selected by local members to be the Scottish Conservative & Unionist candidate for the Midlothian North constituency.
The expansion of the towns in Midlothian over the last few years has brought new pressures for the people living here. Residents must have access to GPs, school buildings are of the highest quality, and the towns of the constituency are linked by good transport options.
It is important to recognise that the residents of Midlothian North do not live just outside Edinburgh, but that they live in growing communities that deserve the best opportunities available. As I campaign over the next 11 months, I will be bringing the message of common sense for a change to the towns and villages of Midlothian North. I will be asking the residents of Midlothian North to vote for me as their candidate and for Scottish Conservatives on the regional list vote".
Congratulating Phil on his selection, Midlothian Association Chairman Reuben Earl commented: Phil is an outstanding candidate and I am very much looking forward to working with and supporting him throughout the next 11 months.
Midlothian has a choice in 2026.
More of the same failure with the SNP and Labour.
Confused populists who only tell people what they want to hear.
Or - the Scottish Conservatives, who will put common sense at the heart of our campaign. We will make Scotland an attractive place to live and work, with lower taxes and more efficient public services.
